The artisan
Mario’s passion for fishing began when he was 26 years old fishing in the surroundings of his native Buenos Aires.
Ten years later he combined it with the handmade design and assembly of fly fishing rods, reparation and personalization.
His artistic spirit is viewed in his unique style: vibrant, bold and delicate.
Mario is currently focused on the design of Fly Casting rods, Tenkara and Tanago rods. He also designed some cases, socks and flies for small and big fishes. Graphite and Bamboo are the main materials in which he use to work.
A detailer par excellence, Mario is passionate about designing his own handles for his rods. For this reason, he has learned to work with cork and bamboo, to be able to give each rod a different grip.

He also loves teaching individual fly casting classes in different environments, advising on the best material to use and repairing your rods when necessary.
Currently at Madrid he combines his fly fishing passion with the handmade art and decor pieces, sustainable and many of them inspired in the Sea and Coastal environments. Visit www.mariodiazart.com to know more.
